It's now official, Edwin Van der Sar will end his career at the end of the season. Many names were circulated to carry the torch in cages United but no confirmation had emanated from the club. And the number one choice of MU is not necessarily the one. This is indeed the gatekeeper of the Dutch selection, Maarten Stekelenburg, as revealed by the deputy of Sir Alex Ferguson in the columns of the Dutch magazine, Voetbal International.
"Stekelenburg is indeed the goalkeeper who is on top of our list. We naturally talked a lot about us replacing Van der Sar, "admitted Rene Meulensteen, who takes the cons-up rumors already sent Rene Adler, Hugo Lloris and Manuel Neuer for the Red Devils.
