The Real Madrid is looking for a striker on loan to replace injured Argentine Gonzalo Higuain, said its Director General, Jorge Valdano, after the triumph "Merengue" this Thursday's 3-1 win over Atletico Madrid in the quarter finals of the Cup del Rey. Higuain is unlikely to return before April because of back surgery, leaving only Karim Benzema in the front of the white team.

"We will try not to weigh the commitment in the future. The market we shrink a little. We are looking for a striker and that is the key feature. We look for a striker to give us a hand in the next six months," said Valdano. Coach Jose Mourinho said he would welcome any reinforcement, as Benzema has struggled to find the networks this season with nine goals in 27 participations.

It is reported that Real are looking to sign Emmanuel Adebayor Manchester City or Miroslav Klose of Bayern Munich.
