Aston Villa crisis: the fans download Houllier, the company confirms

It is not a great season for Aston Villa: Veterans of three consecutive European placings in sixth place, the Villans are currently in full scrimmage to escape relegation with just one point ahead of third from last. The dissatisfaction of the fans was made explicit during the last home game, finished 0-1 against rivals Wolverhampton and coinciding with its third consecutive defeat.

The anger of the fans had as main target the manager Gerard Houllier: chorus from the stands and banners have challenged the Frenchman with invitations to leave, especially at the time of replacement. Houllier management since September has so far led only six wins in the league, but it coincided with the FA Cup the breaking point between fans and manager: the challenge against Manchester City at Eastlands valid for accessing the quarterfinals' Aston Villa came with a clearly altered by delivering training to ease the passage of the Citizens turn.

After that race two defeats in the league against Bolton and Wolverhampton in fact have worsened the rift with the fans. However, the company has ruled out surprises: Although the Lerner owner is "deeply disappointed", the Executive Director Faulkner has confirmed to BBC that "the best chance of escape is with Houllier."
