EM Host: Polish hooligans riot in Lithuania

200 football hooligans of the EM co-host Poland have provided on Friday after the 0-2 (0-2) defeat of their team in the Test match in Lithuania for riots. In Kaunas a good 14 months before the start of the 2012 European Championships held in Poland and Ukraine, twelve Polish camp followers, a Lithuanian policeman was admitted to hospital.

The 200 Polish hooligans had attacked in the streets around the stadium security forces with fireworks, stones and bottles. According to the Lithuanian news agency Delfi, the police responded with tear gas and dogs to the attacks of the badly drunken fans. The attacks by the end of the game were also a reaction to their first defeat of Poland in five years against Lithuania.

It was a result of goals from Edgaras Cesnauskis in the 18th and 29 Minute. Lithuania expected in the European Championship Qualifiers (Group 1) on the defending champion and world champions Spain, who won the home game 3-1. Poland denies the same day another test against Greece. Before the EC, the Polish police arming including electronic shackles for hooligans against the feared riots.
