Birmingham City - Wolverhampton, to win salvation

The victory in yesterday's ties to Blackburn and Wigan and Blackpool inguaiano further classifications of Blues and Wolves, called in a few minutes to direct confrontation probably decisive for their stay in the Premier League. But guests do not have an enviable balance of the Midlands derby played so far, two wins in eleven head to head with Aston Villa, WBA and Birmingham are certainly not an impressive business card.

In addition, the St. Andrews may awaken old memories of last year, a 1-0 advantage in the team lost in the final Mc Carthy beaten by two goals from Phillips, who relegated the Wolves in the relegation zone. But after that bitter defeat, the club was able 'to get up and attain salvation with the home draw against Rovers, finishing eight points off the relegation zone.

But the current season of wolves has been frustrating in some ways, they beat rivals such as Chelsea, United, Liverpool and City in compensation but did not win enough points with the lower ranked teams. What is needed to achieve the goal, then, is its continuity score points, and absolutely must be done in these last four games against teams in the second half of the league.

Also in the last seven days have grossed only disappointment, having satisfied also against Fulham on Tuesday night have lost much at the Britannia Stadium against Stoke City. But Birmingham is not even out of danger, in the week 5-0 at Anfield has brought down Blues in 15th place and a defeat against rivals today could make them slip back in full fighting to escape relegation.

Their manager McLeish has warned Wolves predicting the reaction of his Blues but McCarthy's team are missing fewer races to decide their own fate. That's why the stakes are so high in the Midlands derby. These are the teams that likely will take the field at 13 (Italian time): Birmingham City (4-4-1-1): Foster, Carr, Johnson, Jiranek, Ridgewell, Larsson, Fahey, Gardner, Bowyer, Hleb, Jerome.

Wolverhampton (4-5-1) Hennessey, Stearman, Craddock, Berra, Ward, Kightly, Henry, Milijas, Jarvis, O'Hara, Fletcher.
