Official: Heynckes coach of Bayern Munich until 2013

The contacts were made for several days and it's not really a surprise, but the Bayern Munich on Friday formalized the signing of Jupp Heynckes as coach of Bayern for the next two seasons. Currently in Leverkusen, the former German international, who had led Bayern Munich, will succeed Louis van Gaal.

"Jupp Heynckes was our favorite candidate. We are very pleased to have reached an agreement with him for the next two seasons. I am convinced that this will be a fruitful collaboration, "said Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, Bayern Munich boss. For its part, the future Bavarian technician has not hidden his pleasure to take control of a club he knows well.

"Beyond my personal relations with leaders, Bayern Munich has always impressed me with his professionalism. I was twice coach of this club and I always appreciated the work environment (...) It is a fascinating task that I'll put up with the team during the next two seasons, " Jupp Heynckes told.
