The English press has cracked a funny rumor Friday. Some British media, Aston Villa would like to recruit Karim Benzema during the winter transfer window. Asked about this, Gerard Houllier has denied any interest in the English club for his former Lyon player, especially at a time when Real Madrid looking to recruit a striker rather than resell those he has ..."I do not think Benzema will come to Villa. Jose Mourinho has said that they lacked a goalscorer, so how could he get rid of one of the only ones he has available right now? I think he's trying to sign a new striker. I have not even dared asked Jose Karim because I know the current situation, "he said on Sky Sports Gerard Houllier, who nevertheless acknowledged that it was also looking for a striker for Villa during the winter transfer window.
