Arsenal Keeper: Lehmann - "Experience does not smart"

It is a sunny day, the London wearing short pants and look cheerful than usual. We meet at "Wolseley", a wonderful tea house at the Picadilly Street. Jens Lehmann, 41, appointed Sacher Torte, which he swears. 2003-2008 Lehmann lived in London when he played for Arsenal. He won the English champions and European Goalkeeper of the year.

For a few weeks he is back, back, out of retirement. Because both substitute keeper injured, Lehmann at Arsenal is now number two behind the Spaniard Manuel Almunia. Daily Soccer Buzz: Will not you stop, stop, or you can not? Jens Lehmann: Yes, yes, I was actually done with my career. But I did anyway once again to London to get an internship here at Arsenal, before I start to make my coach ticket.

As it happened quite well, as they called and said they had only one goalie. Did you know that I am fit. We like the city because we do not have friends here. I would not go to another city. But Arsenal, I went straight there. Daily Soccer Buzz: A comeback, at 41 years. Now you belong to the ranks Schumacher, mask & Co.

Lehman: Probably, if one considers only the age. But I think for me it was similar, it is certainly been at Michael Schumacher. I did not stop. From my performance and my physical feelings I might have to play on. Daily Soccer Buzz: But does one not in danger of sawing off his own legend? Lehmann: First, I've never done on my legend, thoughts and secondly, I know that for me is the most beautiful playing football.

It is what I have always the most fun. And now I guess I just have eight weeks again the opportunity to do that. I'll take natural. Daily Soccer Buzz: They were already in game shows, once even with your wife. That's what athletes really only when a comeback is impossible. Lehmann: Since I have no experience.

As I said: This is after eight weeks over and offers me the opportunity to learn the way a lot. During my internship I had proposed holding stood nearby, watching me and making notes. Now I'm on the court and participate. So great is the difference did not. Daily Soccer Buzz: In England, it rained heavily criticized after the first game.

The Daily Express called a "nightmare", the "Sun" wrote of the "King of the margins." That must have hurt it. Lehmann: I have not read everything, and I'm not itching so much. I went directly after the game and had not talked more with the English journalist, something that playing it ever a role.

That I had not played ten months, I was not too bad. Now I've been training three weeks, had a second game, and I was good. Now I'm back on the amount. Also, do not forget one thing: Arsenal can still be champion. This is a challenge. Daily Soccer Buzz: When you return, perhaps as English champions to Germany, will show you the special training for deserving former players.

Quasi a trainer flash rate. Lehmann: Well, it takes a year. I hope I will learn a lot there. Over-training organization, about fitness training in psychology. All these things interest me much. Daily Soccer Buzz is also said to Oliver Kahn in your course. They both together at school - then replace cheat sheet? Lehmann: I've heard, Kahn would have been canceled.

But there are actually good people in the course. Among other things, Effenberg, Henry, Mulder and Scholl. Daily Soccer Buzz: Why is it that most goalies fail as a coach? Besides Dino Zoff I can think of no one who has done it. Lehman: You have probably never thought about how the game works.

Most goalkeepers are therefore goalkeeper coach. The best coaches in the world but were not necessarily big box players. When I see Wenger or Mourinho - who have not played great soccer. This is similar to some teachers at school. Many know very much, but not all of it can also communicate well to students.

This will be a challenge, should I become a coach. Daily Soccer Buzz: Still thinking about the goalkeepers. Manuel Neuer has one foot in the semifinals of the Champions League. Lehmann: Yes, this is madness, what makes Schalke there. This reminds me of our season when we played rather well in the league average, but came to the European final.

A season in which the atmosphere was as bad as it gets, so maybe even a happy ending. Daily Soccer Buzz All New guess to move to Bayern. Do you? Lehmann: I watched the game of Schalke in Munich and felt that the reactions of the audience as very severe. I would not give him any advice, but there are serious situations that are not done in a week or a month, but about a year or even several years to run.

That he should know. Daily Soccer Buzz: You speak from experience because you then went to a former Schalke Dortmund. Lehman: Yes. I know how hard it is. Some fans just do not like one. And I was still lucky because we were champions after. But it was really tiring. In retrospect, that was for me sporting a step that I am many people stepped on their toes, both Schalke and Dortmund's how.

Daily Soccer Buzz: So do you recommend new rather from? He knows he is not in Munich received with open arms. Lehman: If the stadium is quiet, which in Munich is indeed sometimes the case cry, only fifty or a hundred people. This can be seen perfectly well you can hear it, word for word.

And I tell you: It's not really simple and has an influence on performance. I do not know if he has already decided. Perhaps he is indeed at Schalke. Daily Soccer Buzz: You've got 2002 last championship title with Borussia. If you have doubt that the championship after nine years goes to Dortmund? Lehman: Yes.

It was clear to me after the mid-series. I know at this stage, no team that would have earned as much as Borussia Dortmund. Daily Soccer Buzz: What makes this team? Lehman: You seem to have a great camaraderie. Because everyone is so young, they have lower recovery times. They are superior to the others running bio high.

And do not forget you only play once a week. Daily Soccer Buzz: If you compare this force with your team champion in 2002, Lehmann ...: ... then I have to say very clearly: the achievements of these guys is definitely better. We were a collection of stars, those were all national players.

The boys had to play today then regular seasons, but never Superior. I therefore believe that a comparison fails in its favor. Daily Soccer Buzz: What's with Dortmund next? Can this young team tackle the Champions League? Lehman: No, I do not think so. In my opinion, they are there do not have much chance to win.

On leaving the Champions League they have already seen this season, what makes the difference. But: A team that is German champion, was in a European competition overwinter. This should be expected. Daily Soccer Buzz: So must intensify Dortmund? Lehmann: It is very difficult: who they want to get now? Who goes there will get more money demand than the current players, has contributed to winning the championship but nothing.

Daily Soccer Buzz: Jürgen Klopp is anyhow not necessarily committed to undertake expensive stars. Lehmann: Well, if I would be him, I will see that I would get as many outstanding players to do so. For he will be the first, the next year under pressure. It is without question an outstanding performance as he leads the team to success.

Now comes the more difficult task: Can I keep up there? Can I develop the team so that viewers every Saturday and every Wednesday always enjoy coming to the stadium? This challenge will Jürgen Klopp now confronts. If it is an advantage that he himself has no great international experience, so very careless approach to the Champions League: Soccer Daily Buzz? Lehmann: It does not matter.

The bad experience, it does not make one smarter. The good thing is that people can react to situations that one has experienced before. We know how you have to deal with it. We do not have to discuss it. Which will experience all in Dortmund next season something new. This is for us who are not involved, certainly entertaining.

Whether it will be good for Dortmund, one will see until then. The run they had this year, will be repeated very, very difficult. But if they succeed, I take my hat off. Daily Soccer Buzz: Finally, another issue: you have sued Tim Wiese to 20,000 € for pain and suffering because he has offended you.

He said, you belong in a mental hospital. Lehmann: He's in a very insulting manner responding to something that may have been him just so happened. It was a substantive criticism on television, which I was also put into the mouth by the moderator. He had several times had the opportunity to apologize.

In order to command such things in the future stop, my step was inevitable. Daily Soccer Buzz: Theo Zwanziger quipped: Perhaps we should use as Judge Oliver Kahn. Lehmann: On the one hand, humorous. On the other hand, I know that he is the better deal with each other in professional football uses and supports the Code of Conduct of the national team.
