Comes out tomorrow, "Offside", the Italian football is banned at girls

ROME, April 7 - Quit tomorrow in Italian cinemas the film "Offside," the Iranian director Jafar Panahi, who was sentenced to six years' imprisonment (for twenty years and he is forbidden to make films, as well as leave the country and have contacts with the press) from scheme and is currently on probation, on bail.

"Offside" was successfully presented at the Berlin Festival in 2006, where he was awarded the Silver Bear. The film tells the story of a group of girls who want to watch a football game, something forbidden to women in Iran, and to do that disguise themselves as men. Out of respect for the viewer does not reveal more than the story, a comedy that talking about sports, football occasion, addresses the issue of human rights, a struggle that the women of Iran are fighting a thousand difficulties and risks.

In the film there are no professional actors, because the choice of Panahi has favored the appearance of almost documentary narrative. In "Offside," offside in Iran are women, which is being denied equality even as mere spectators in a stadium. The director explained how the idea of the story has come from his own daughter, eager to assist in the training of Iranian national football team.

Of course, "Offside" is not released in Iran, whose national volleyball next season will be coached by Argentine engineer with an Italian passport, Julio Velasco.
