Hercules 1-0 Deportivo ... Guardado I can not avoid defeat

Despite the effort made by the Mexican midfielder Andres Guardado, Deportivo La Coruna lost 1-0 on their visit to Hercules of Alicante, which still remains in struggle to stay in first division. For the squad Alicante was a major victory because it allowed to reach 33 points and with it dreams of following in the top flight of Spanish football.

Hercules The result was two points behind next step in the overall standings, nearly quit the relegation zone, and above all meant a morale blow to his advantage to face the last stretch of the season. Instead Deportivo with 38 units remained in position 13 of the league, with some risk of losing their place in First, while maintaining a cushion of advantage that could handle the last dates of the championship.

Guardado was the most incisive player from La Coruna to the offensive, both as left and right with all its momentum and attempts by the opposing defense off balance, the Mexican could not avoid the drop. The winning score for the whole of Alicante was carried out by Tiago Gomes, who defined the head of a great service by right he sent his partner Kiko.

The duel had some emotional passages, but mainly in the final minutes, when the field was open for both teams. On the one hand, local counterattacks launched increasingly dangerous trying to kill off the result, while Deportivo pouncing of the net for an equalizer. There were two clear actions that could change the cards in those final minutes, as David Trezeguet had an excellent opportunity to score the second goal for the Hercules, but missed a one on one with goalkeeper Aranzubía.

And virtually the last kick of the game, Juan Dominguez topped in the area and goalkeeper Calatayud dramatically prevented the tie. Things did not change and the whistle that decreed the end of the match, with a Hercules that has life and a sport to let it go a good opportunity to ensure the permanence in the First Division.
