MILAN, April 8 - UniCredit wants to close as soon as the sale of AS Roma with the Americans led by Thomas DiBenedetto and then think to sell half of its stake (20%) to an Italian partner. He indicated the bank's chief operating officer of Square Cordusio, Paul Fiorentino, at the presentation of the European Union Youth Orchestra, which will be supported by UniCredit in the spring tour of 2011.
"Before we close this transaction" with the Americans, said the banker, "and then think about the second part." UniCredit under the agreements will be a shareholder of Newco giallorosso control of the club with a 40% stake. And later, the bank may sell part of its share to other strategic investors Italians.
As for the signing of the agreement with the consortium of DiBenedetto & Co, Fiorentino did not want to give information of any kind. And when asked if 14 to 17 April will be in Boston to close the deal said: "I have not set the agenda for next week." And anyway, he added, the meeting "may not apply to me personally."
