Makelele: "This time, we must work as a team"

For its final season at the highest level in 38 years, Claude Makelele wants to finish in style. A title and a nice place overall, this is the ambition of the GMP for the second half of the season. But the experienced midfield Paris has certainly not forgotten the meltdown of the end of last season, and uses its position to remind everyone of its obligations facing the collective approach the final sprint.

"The natural contenders, it remains Lyon and Marseille. But in a final sprint, anything is possible. We're underdogs, such as Lille and Rennes. But we should not commit the same mistakes as last year. In recent months, most everyone thought his own career as collective ambitions. This time, we absolutely must work as a team.

Each player should put his individual interests in parentheses, far more than the past two seasons. If we pass this hurdle, we can achieve good things ... Then, players can think about their contract saying they will not lose, they stay here or they go away, "warned a Claude Makelele who hopes that the negotiations that begin to lead the President Leproux with players on contract extensions will be done with success, but mostly discreetly, not to break the momentum of Paris.
