Sweden: professional soccer Hysén outed himself as gay

The outing resulted in a simple question. From the Cover of the Swedish soccer magazine Offside "Anton Hysén sent the message to the country. In a rainbow-colored soccer shoe was written: "Var fan är alla andra" - "Where are all the other" issue This is Hysén had apparently been made long and finally made the decision to operate its outing in a big way: "I am football player, and I'm gay, "said the fourth-professional league clubs Utsiktens BK in the Swedish magazine.

"I play maybe not in the top league, but I will still prove that the sexual orientation of a people no role in the performance of his playing career," the son of former international Glenn Hysén. "But where are all the others? That's not normal when you think about it closely. "The 20-year-old was during his youth as a major talent in the Swedish football and was until last year, the squad of first division club BK Hacken.

But numerous injuries slowed his career, so that it has a not so experienced rapid supervisor Chung as his brother, the current Swedish international Tobias Hysén, which is currently under contract with IFK Gothenburg. Whether Anton Hysén now fear abuse of opponents and fans must be, are not known.

Sweden is considered as a tolerant country. But in football, such "templates" for the opponent's supporters in the fan curves have been welcome. For him it was outrageous that he was the only player in Sweden, which was open to his homosexuality, said Hysén. "It's sick when you think about it." Europe has so far only a professional player outed during his playing days: Englishman Justin Fashanu reported in 1990 as a 29-year-old of his homosexuality.

In 1998, he committed suicide.
