We did not expect this step backwards: Emilio Butrageño

Emilio Butragueño, Director of Institutional Relations of Real Madrid, admitted today that it hoped to "step back" from the tie against Deportivo and left the team to seven points behind leaders Barcelona. "There are many parties, but it is really not expected back. I think we deserved to win at Deportivo and we had very clear chances, but the truth is that we're back to seven points behind, which is a setback," he said.

Butragueño, who attended today's delivery by the Royal Family of the National Sports Awards at the Palace of El Pardo, said, however, that "the League is not lost" and that "we must keep fighting until the final ". The former Real Madrid striker also admitted that the team has suffered a slump in front of goal.

"It is true that cost us scoring goals lately compared to the devastating effectiveness of a few months ago, but they are spells and we must continue working." Butragueño believes that when the coach Mourinho complains about the timing "does not put it as an excuse but a reality that the team does not have enough rest to play weekdays and weekends." Director of Institutional Relations of Real Madrid elaborated on the fact that the team so far this year has a heavy schedule of matches.

"We left points on fields to play Sunday and Wednesday," he said.
